Minions is a team battle game. It needs cooperation and team work, beside of individual skills.
You can choose one from several tanks before each round, to control. The tank will be given some special abilities over time, which you can choose to upgrade which ability for each level you reached.

That's why, simple rules but complex game play.

The variety of the tanks can change the play-style
Some tanks are powerful in early games. They have the potential to take down enemy tanks to prevent the late-game tanks to develop. If the enemies won't show themselves, their towers will be the one to be destroyed.
In later part of the game, late game tanks will be really owning while the early game tanks will just be supports.
For this, you can decide whether to play quick and take down the towers and risk to death, or playing safely and defend self towers.

Dying won't finish it, but will take you under leveled
When you made mistake and you die, you won't be out of the game. You can respawn as many time as possible. Your loss by dying is that you got back to your base, there will be delay before you respawn, and when the delay you won't get the exp to level up, which is the biggest loss for you. By not leveling up your abilities are less powerful than the enemies.

Fast Paced Strategy Game
Not as fast as action games, but for a strategy game, Minions is a fast paced game so it will be exciting.


PS: If you know DotA or LoL, yes, this game is similar to them, and probably is inspired from it. But this game can be played if you don't have much time. This game will finish in about 8-20 minutes (depending on tanks selection and game mode)
